🎢 1 LinkedIn Growth Tip → Deleting reposts
Reader, you're a founder and I'm going to paint a picture for you.
Let's say you have posted your post for today. You've also reposted that post after 6 hours.
Now, what do you do next? Do you just leave it as it is?
Well, the answer is, no.
You'll need to come back tomorrow and delete your reposted post.
Here's why:
- You don't want to look unprofessional.
- You don't want your feed to look messy.
- You don't want to look like you're someone who's not serious on LinkedIn.
Here's how you can put that into action.
Actionable tip
1. Delete your repost.
Come back tomorrow, and delete your repost. It's as simple as that.
2. Scan your feed.
You may have reposted previously. Check your feed and delete those reposts.
Be careful not to delete your official post when doing this.
3. Beware next time.
The next time you post and repost that post, always remember to come back and delete it.
Remember, how you present yourself offline is the same as how you present yourself online.
Be professional. Be mindful!
✏️ 1 LinkedIn Writing Tip → Write something that Google can't tell
For the past few weeks on LinkedIn, I have seen people churning out the same old ideas.
I don't see anything new. Neither is an interesting perspective.
If your content on LinkedIn is giving the same old and boring stuff:
- You'll not attract the clients.
- You'll not attract the right partners.
- You'll not attract a proper community.
- You'll not attract your dream investors.
That's why I started differentiating myself by sharing actionable pointers I don't see anyone sharing.
This is how I share tips that Google can't tell.
(you'll know what I'm saying if you read my newsletter's actionable points and my LinkedIn content)
Today, I'm going to teach you how you can do something similar!
Actionable tip
1. Expose the flaws in popular advice.
Take a widely accepted piece of advice and share why it doesn’t always work. Give a new perspective on its limitations and share what has worked for you.
Here's an example of how you can start:
"You’ve probably heard this advice 100 times: Post every day to grow your LinkedIn presence. But does that really work?"
2. Start a “What’s Not Being Said” series.
Create a weekly or monthly series where you share industry conversations that aren't happening but should be.
Here's an example of how you can start:
"We’re all talking about personal branding, AI content creation, and networking tips. But here’s what no one is discussing: the emotional toll of constant self-promotion."
3. LinkedIn polls for new ideas.
Don't guess what your audience wants. Ask them directly through LinkedIn polls. Use their answers to shape your next post.
Here's an example of how you can start:
"What's your biggest struggle when writing content on LinkedIn?
Option A: Getting ideas
Option B: Simple language
Option C: Formatting"
If you realise, I just gave you 3 new content ideas to post next week.
(that wasn't on purpose at all hahaha)
👀 Life Tip → Boundaries
You can hustle hard, and take on every project.
But, how far can you go? Can you really thrive without setting boundaries?
I'm telling you because I've done this before.
I've pushed my limits, and I know firsthand that it leads to chaos.
(I'm not saying pushing against your limit is bad. I'm saying you should know when to stop).
Now, I want you to reflect:
- Do you find yourself saying "yes" too often?
- Do you have a definite line between work and personal life?
- Do you communicate your boundaries with your loved ones?
If you see yourself sacrificing your boundaries for work, you'll soon see yourself walking towards burnout.
You don't want that, right?
Let's change that.
Actionable Tip
Here are 3 ways you can start setting up boundaries (with examples).
1. Personal boundary manifesto.
Write a manifesto that says:
- "I will prioritize my mental health"
- "I will disconnect from work after 6 PM"
- "I will say no to projects that drain my energy"
Post this document near your workspace as a daily reminder.
2. Designate a “No” day.
Choose Fridays as your “No” Day. Tell your team that you will not take on any new projects or attend meetings that day.
Instead, use this time to reflect on your current projects and recharge your energy for the following week.
3. Automatic replies.
Create an automatic email reply for weekends that says:
“Thank you for your message! I’m currently offline and will respond on Monday. If this is urgent, please contact [alternate contact].”
This helps set clear expectations.
Remember, no one can take care of you except yourself.
Give what your mind and body deserve. The rest will fall along!
