🎒 1 LinkedIn Growth Tip

Beware of silent connections

Reader, do you know that most founders and CEOs, will not engage with your post?

They will not:

  • Like your post
  • Share your post
  • Comment on your post

But here's the thrill. Just because they don't engage with you, that does not mean they are not watching you.

  • They still read your post
  • They still check your profile
  • They still read those comments

(just that they do in private)

Why? Because,

  • They don't want their peers to know
  • They don't want to show the public
  • They just like to be in private

But, how can you find out which founder/or C-Suite executive is reading your content? You can't unless they like or comment on your posts.

However, here's something we can do that's in our control!

Actionable tip

1. LinkedIn search filters.

On your LinkedIn homepage, click on "My Network" and then select "Connections."

In the search bar, type "Founder" or other relevant terms like "CEO" or "Co-Founder."

Look up each profile.

  • Check their activity status
  • Check their comment status
  • DM them and see if they reply

If there's a positive response for at least ONE of them, they're active. You can start building your network and partnership from there!

If not, wait for some time until there's a positive response from one of the three points.

2. LinkedIn's premium tool.

If you have access to LinkedIn Sales Navigator, you can filter connections based on activity level!

You can select the "Posted in the last 30 days" filter for founders and C-suite executives. This way, you find your active group of people in seconds.

Remember, sometimes your silent connections are the most powerful connections.

It's your job to get in touch with them and build your network moving forward.

So, are you going to do this?

✏️ 1 LinkedIn Writing Tip

Magic of writing for one

One of the leading LinkedIn creators - Jasmin Alic, preaches this.

If you write to one person, you talk to THAT person only. If you write to all, you're not talking to anyone.

In the past, I've made this mistake myself (it's not looking so good).

That's why this newsletter is dedicated to founders and C-suite executives. Of course, people outside these positions can read too (I mean I do that sometimes!).

See, if you write to one person,

  • Your messaging will be easy
  • Your messaging will be direct
  • Your messaging will be convincing

And you'll relate to your reader better! In return, they'll trust you more with their problems.

Now let's see how you can enhance your writing by writing to ONE person.

Actionable tip

1. Choose the "one" person whom you want to write for.
I choose founders and C-suite executives because my business revolves around them.

If your business revolves around building high performers in companies, you can write for:

  • Your co-worker
  • Your daughter
  • Your friend
  • Your mom
  • Your dad
  • Your son

Literally, anyone (but they must be a high-performer or want to become one).

2. Plaster that person in your mind.
I know sometimes, your mind wonders while writing.

(I know because it happens to me)

But here's what I do, that you can do too.

  • I take a paper
  • I take a thick marker
  • And I write "TALK TO FOUNDERS" (yes, in caps)

And I'll paste it on the wall in front of me. So every time I go off-track, my eyes look up the wall, and I get back on track.

3. Draft your post.

Start writing. Just write. But remember "who" you're writing for.

Once you're done with your draft, go back and read it aloud two times. ALOUD please, don't read to yourself.

If you're 101% confident that,

  • This person HAS to read this
  • This is MEANT for this person
  • This person will LOVE what I'm sharing

you're on the road to winning their hearts.

So tell me, who do you talk to in your posts?

πŸ‘€ Life Tip

Harsh truth about sleep

You can go a day without,

  • eating
  • drinking

But, can you go a day without sleeping? I've tried it, and I can't. You can't either.

Reader, I need you to answer these:

  • How quality is your sleep?
  • How many hours do you sleep?

If this routine goes on for the next 5 years, where will you end up?

I know you've loads of work. Projects need to be completed. Clients to attend to. But if the price of this is to sacrifice your sleep, it's not good. At all!

Let's see how we can reverse that.

Actionable Tip

1. Sleep in cycles, not hours.

1 sleep cycle is 90 minutes. This is what you need to aim for.

If you can't get 7-8 hours of sleep, try aiming for 4.5, 6, or 7.5 hours (3, 4, or 5 sleep cycles).

Use a sleep-tracking app like "Sleep Cycle" to wake you up at the end of a cycle instead of in the middle of one.

2. Lower your room temperature.

Cool temperatures (15-19Β°C) signal your body that it's time to sleep.

Because your body temperature drops when you sleep. If you can facilitate your body better by cooling your room, you get quality sleep.

Use a fan, or an open window to cool the room before bedtime. Feel free to invest in lighter blankets.

3. Pre-sleep ritual.

Spend 10 minutes doing something specific every night before bed.

This ritual will trigger your brain to slow down. As you form this habit, you'll do it unconsciously (just as how you brush your teeth every morning with no mental effort).

Start with a gentle stretch or listen to calming music.

Remember, you sleep for 1/3 of your life. So make that a quality one, can you?
